DarthChristmas
Good morning. I talked to a colleague of mine who happens to be an Ambassador for Xbox, Rod T. and he suggested I contact Xbx about my account being temporarily banned on HALO reach due to my 5 yr old wanting to learn to play (he loves the game btw ) and was apparently reported for "cheating" because he was running off map and suiciding.....now i get the whole teamwork thing but its a game and hes 5 years old! Shouldn't there be some safeguards so all kids can enjoy the game and not being banned for learning? If people are reporting for such a ridiculous thing, then maybe they should seek some anger management help, in my opinion. So other then waiting out this dumb ban, what other measure can I take to ensure Im getting the service I paid for WITHOUT banning my son from learning to enjoy the Xbox? depressant
First off, we are not the official 343 industries, that's Halo Waypoint. Second, I suggest you have your 5yr old practice on campaign, forge, or a custom game so you don't get in trouble if he does something wrong. As for your ban, maybe you could tell Halo Waypoint or Xbox Live your problem anf they might be able to fix it.
Caboose The Ace
Bans are not a case by case basis. It would be angry at heck if there was someone like that in the game. Losing the game for us. And I would report. How did I know he was a five year old? and even if I did. I still might have done anyway. Besides it is only a temp ban, just don't let him play MM again.... and what would these safeguards be exactly? No, he should play Campaign, forge etc where he cannot ruin the game for others. Jack Of Harts
Should your 5-year old son really be playing a game that says "Mature 17+" on the box, or in my case "16"? These exist for a reason: If he's running off of the map, costing your team points, the fact that he's 5 shouldn't be an excuse because the game wasn't made for his age group. Now, I will admit that I was playing 16-rated games when I was younger but the thing is I didn't even have Internet at that age. Rules are strict when it comes to online gaming, and it is not made for anyone below the age of 8. If you let him play and you get banned, that's nobody's problem except your own. I can understand wanting to play Halo with a 5-year old son as I personally don't believe Halo warrants a Mature 17+ age rating but online is not suitable for younger audiences. I suggest your son to play Campaign or Firefight. Oh and just so you know, we're not the official 343 Industries, we're a community forum. Their official website is http://halowaypoint.com
Unease Peanut
I think your temp ban might have something to do with the system thinking that you're boosting (0 kills and a ton of deaths). This was implemented in the earlier Halo Reach days because people would go into matchmaking and do bugger all and still recieve credits/exp thus boosting their rank. Either that or you might have quit too many games in a short period of time.
The Director
I agree with Jack to a certain point. Don't let your son play on XBL until he's a bit older. Instead, have him play splitscreen with you so that he gets used to the game. Also, make sure he can't hear the other players. Unless you want to explain to him what the other people are talking about...
BerriesBoo
I played Mature games when i was nine years old, then I had no choice to move out and came back online at 16 years old. I was old enough to play Mature games once again. Cuz, Mature games can lead your son's dreams. Meaning Bad dreams about elites and the blood, or etc. Just saying. He should either have E = Everyone for all ages, I think. Something that's safer for him, cuz around his young age he could start cursing out nowhere, to your family or in school. Js. SlowCinema123
Hello, For some reason I am temp banned (not sure what time frame "temp" is since it is not clear). I reached out to Xbox Live like I saw several posts mention and they got back to me saying I am in good standing with them and to contact the game developer... So, after combing the internet I do not see a way to reach 343 industries (which in my opinion is poor customer relations) so is there a way to discuss this somewhere to find out why my account is banned?
