Ok so to start off I want to say this was posted by JL in his status. I wanted to make this into a thread however because I'm not sure who's really been paying attention to footage or not recently and I want some thoughts on what you liked and what you didn't like here instead of commenting on the video.

 

 

 

I only watched the first game. It's not that I didn't like it it's just that I had to get off after making this thread so I'll point out things I liked and didn't like only from what I've seen.

 

DISLIKED: 

 

There were too many beeping sounds. Seriously a beep every time you reload or when you lose/regain shield or pick up a weapon is just annoying. 

 

I'm not sure if ADS was what I was seeing but the scope was definitely altered for the BR. I didn't notice it listing any attachments when he picked it up but since it's Halo then it might not even do that it's kind like a skin, it doesn't tell you if a certain gun has a skin in Halo 4 when you pick it up so I guess it wouldn't tell you the attachment either? If attachments exist..

 

Climbing ledges. Climbing ledges is going to make it easier to chase and evasion is actually a good part of competitive Halo. Living to fight another battle, regaining your shields while someone's in the vicinity is pretty vital. Sometimes you can get away with just being on a higher ledge but this kind of takes away from that. 

 

Timer callouts on power weapons. No. I mean I could definitely see this causing more fast paced battles because everyone's going to rush their spawns when they hear the timer called out but no. I hate it. Sometimes I like being the only one timing sniper spawn and getting it by myself. 

 

Related: Power weapon waypoints. Instead of being in the vicinity like in Halo 4, they've made them visible throughout the map. Which is not cool. In Halo 4 I didn't really care for them much but I don't like this in Halo 5. Again, lots of action because people will be rushing them but I don't think it's necessary.

 

 

LIKED: 

 

Thuster Pack being default now is not all that bad. It's actually added a skill factor to the game to almost counter act climbing ledges except that you can use the Thruster Pack to climb those ledges... But anyway it looks fun to use I like the addition. 

 

The playstyle looks very Halo 4 which I enjoyed. Halo 4 has potential to be competitive and Halo 5 taking after it is a good sign. I think getting rid of default sprint would slow the game drastically and everyone would be mad that they can't run to get something from the start like they could in Halo 4. 

 

Talking Spartan teammates besides callouts is a good addition as well. I thought it was kind of encouraging when the other dude's Spartan was like "thanks for the assist." I would've been like hey you're welcome!

 

Graphics/Map looked good. Everything has a lot of detail. The map size was a good size, not overly huge like some of Halo 4's. 

 

 

ON THE FENCE: 

 

The rate of fire of the DMR looked a little eh like it was kind of fast and it was easy to hit people at close range. 

 

Some of the weapons look a little weird but I'll get over it as I play surely.

 

The Spartan Ability where he smashed the guy in one melee was alright. It looked like it could be hard to aim but it also looked like it could be OP when people get used to it. Only time will tell though. 

 

 

 

 

Ok that's all I thought of the first game. You guys can watch a little too and let me know how you feel about what you saw.

As much as I hate to say it, I think it looks and sounds too much like CoD and Destiny put together...... but that's just my opinion... 

 

I know!! I didn't watch it because of my slow Internet but I watched the previous one and it was like a mix of many games, but I guess that's why it's Beta.
