A Sincere Query; Fight Toward a Merry Waypoint

Hello gamers/fans,

I am honestly unsure of what to ask, but I thought my best starting point would be the community built from it; the Halo series. As the holiday season falls next week, and I prepare for my family's Christmas day, a personal desire of my own has come to a point. If I were able to do this on my own, I wouldn't even be here, but I am only having a Christmas for my kids through luck and prayer as it is, let alone what I'm about to share. If this is bothersome, or wrong, or silly to you in any way, I apologize in advance and understand that this may sound as such to some. As I said at the start, I'm not really sure what I'm even trying to accomplish, specifically. My goal was to see if I can get into contact with anyone from 343 Studios.

I am a Sunday School teacher at my church, my name is Seth Adams, 30 years old, a pizza delivery guy being my main household income. At my church, I have taught the class for almost two years, and my time there has pieced together a story about two young boys who come every week that has provoked my reasons for this post. They are brothers, in their early teens, both incredibly well-mannered and very kind, yet reserved and dealing with a daily internal strife. I've come to understand their upbringing has been far from normal. Their birth mother is dead, taken from the world by her addictions. Their birth father is in prison due to the same culprit. They have had neither in their lives for most of their memory, yet the ones that still linger shows pretty clearly. My church has a couple there that had taken them in to raise them. This blessing has helped protect them and give them a solid home, but their adoptive mother has extreme health issues that has kept her from church and society and normalcy for a few years, frequently facing and overcoming fatal illness. Their resignation from most people told me that they obviously struggled with all of these heavy and darker parts of life. In my time reaching out to them, I have found that I've breached the wall of introversion and found out their passion. Halo. In fact, their bond as brothers is tethered tightly by this series just as much as it is their way to interact with those willing to listen. It is what brightens their faces and gets them sounding and looking like kids should at their age. They had been able to play most of the series on their Xbox 360. Now, every Sunday, we have at least a five minute conversation about what happened in their journey through the games, what level they beat, what funny or crazy or intense moments they endured. The games are their way out of the chaos of the upbringing and the darkness that surrounds it. Almost as if the series itself has taken a metaphorical representation of their own journey in reality. It has been a great thing, and I've been trying to help it flourish.

In short, they have no foreseeable way to obtain an Xbox One to continue into Halo 5. I do not know if this story could penetrate 343 the way it has my life and my want to see them reach that next waypoint, that next moment that will keep them going, keep their imaginations and their hope thriving. I've personally tasked myself with trying to save on the side to get them these things myself, but it may be a while, and if I can make that moment as big as possible in any way possible, I figured it was worth a shot. Thank you for any and all help or information that may assist me on this venture. Happy holidays everyone.

Sincerely,

Seth

That's a beautiful and heartwarming story, reminding me much of my own past -- which I won't bother to get into at this point to spare you the wall of text -- and it makes me wish that we could really do something for them.

Now, since I can be banned for bluntly replying with "we are a community site not actually overseen by 343 Industries," I could probably help you out by providing a link to their main site ( https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us); and to their forum ( https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums ); though, honestly, I doubt that many of the moderators and community members of that site could really reach that far in helping you.

Here, however, we may find some sort of feasible way to assist you and those kids.. it'll take the whole community in the effort, but from all that I've seen from both of these sites (here and Waypoint), this site may actually accomplish something.

But, in awful honesty, I don't hold any form of power on this site, so we're going to have to wait for a moderator to roll in here before anything can be solidified.

Wish you the best, Seth.

I appreciate the feedback and support. So far I haven't had much luck with my efforts, understandably, but I have faith that something will happen. Don't get me wrong, I know there are many greater causes and needs out there, so picking and aiding in reaching my goal with me only magnifies my thankfulness for it. Thanks for all of your time and words and input!
