You can charge the plasma pistol in H2A with a scuf controller!

Just messing around in a custom game and my plasma pistol started charging and I have a scuf with trigger stops. As far as I knew, this wasnt possible. So I figured out the buttom combo that makes it charge. Not the most graceful, but it works none the less.

Button Combo:

Press right trigger and hold it down (it will shoot the plasma pistol once), while still holding the right trigger down, slide your thumb up the controller in a fast motion sliding over the "A" button (keeping holding it down) and then keep sliding your thumb up until you hit the "X" button (at this point you are holding both "A" and "X" down at the same time), the plasma pistol should start charging shortly after (maybe about 1 second). You can then release the "A" and "X" button, still holding the right trigger with a fully charged plasma pistol. It seems there is some timing required like double shoting when going from the "A" button to the "X" button, but its not hard. If you dont get it on the first try, start over firing the plasma pistol again.

My settings are set to defaut so "A" is jump and "X" is reload for those with different settings.

Hope this helps!

Wait....in CE you've been able to charge the plasma pistol (at least to my recognition) by only holding the right trigger down, I think that's been in Halo since it first launched...

In H2Anniversary you can not charge the plasma pistol at all with a scuf controller that has trigger stops just by holding down the right trigger, it will only fire a single shot of the plasma pistol. Some say you can take the trigger stops out and it will work, I dont know how true that is, but this works with trigger stops.

Hmmm, I always thought you could, guess I'm wrong about that, though I could've sworn I've done it before...

I believe they introduced the ability to charge the plasma pistol in Halo 3. It might be possible in CEA since it was after Halo 3 and 343i might have included it, but I'm not sure.

Charging the Plasma Pistol has been around since Halo: Combat Evolved but what the OP is saying is that it is now even possible to do this with a scuf controller with trigger stops. I have no idea what this means though.

A Scuf controller is a controller made by Scuf. They're a third party manufacturer that makes controllers in various sizes. Some of their controllers have trigger stops. These keep the trigger from being squeezed all the way. This allows one to repeatedly press the trigger faster than one could normally. The downside to this is that certain things that require the trigger to be pressed all the way down, such as charging plasma pistols, become impossible.

This guy has found a way to charge it anyway through a button trick. So for people who play with Scuf controllers that's great.

I personally think it's a better idea to just stick with the default controller.
