onebigboom
Mods are fun but are they cheating too and we just think it is fun to cheat?
Caboose The Ace
^ Mods are not fun for the modder or the people getting killed by the Modder. 1 Because cheating is cheating and cheating isn't fair. 2 Because the Modder most likely would get Banned. Point is both parties involved do not have a fun time. Modding the game is cheating no matter how you look it.
joshyzburton
If you aremodding singleplayer games it can be insane amounts of fun, if you are modding multiplayer it defeats the point of the game and its challenge ruining the game for everyone else... Twinreaper
It all depends on what type of modding you are talking about. Multiplayer mods can be quite fun, provided the mod is NOT used to give an advantage over another player. Mods that have projectile swaps for weapons or enhance the gameplay by making it fun or challenging for everyone is NOT a bad thing. There is no current modding available on the Xbox One as it is still freshly (supposedly) being explored by the public and private keypair set used to sign code. Honestly, where do you idiots get off calling all modding bad or cheating? Do a little research, do some mods yourself, then when your a little more informed you can make an actual statement or comment about it.
depressant
If the mod(s) are to change the texture/look of something to make it new It's fine. If it adds new fun elements that are fair it's good. But if the mod makes the game unfair or easier/harder on a certain player or players then it's bad. It all depends on how it's used. Vaulting♥Frog
It really does depend on the mod. If you are modding the single player campaign then I would say why bother? You defeat the purpose of playing it by modding it at that point. In multiplayer it is a curse and a gift. In customs it can be ok but only if its tasteful. The majority of the time though I see people modding in order to breeze through multiplayer with little effort and still come out on top. That to me is not ok. onebigboom
I personally think they are awesome and you only get banned if you hack to use the mods
Fishy
I personally think they are awesome and you only get banned if you hack to use the mods That doesn't make any sense. I'm not sure you understand the concept of what you are saying. Let me explain something... Modding is a quiet way of hacking. Hacking is like going into the server and doing something.
depressant
I think it's ok if you're in a private custom games or forge where you just want to have fun. Some examples of ok mods can be mods for: dual wielding, new textures, new weapons/objects/vehicles, new maps. As long as it doesn't give anybody an unfair advantage or disadvantage, it's ok. I think mods in multiplayer are just not good, because I don't know what "good mods" can be used, and mods in campaign kind of defeats the feel and purpose of it, like Vaulting Frog said. Richard John Wilson
It is simple. If you cheat, you are a cheater. However, if a game has inbuilt cheats, then they add some thing extra to the game to prolong its lastability. I like games that have these things, such as the first time I come across such a thing was in Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation, the Bandana. This gave the game so much more freedom and with it lots more fun. But this is a single player game, where no one is effected by this cheat. For some one to actively create a cheat, lets say for Mutliplayer, then you are just some one to be despised. I have come across lag induced cheaters, and it is not nice at all. Modders is just as bad. In simple terms, if you have to cheat to win, then there is clearly some thing wrong with you, and maybe you should just give up on the gaming scene. Because you are just not worthy of the title, "Gamer"
