So I have been wanting myself a pet fox for a long time... I have a hard choice, I decided it was time to get one. I'm just having troubles deciding on which one I want. They all look so pretty... The thing is, I want to see your opinions on which one I should get... I'll list below some pictures.

The silver fox is a form of the red fox, and there's no major difference between them. The silver fox only appears to be much darker because of more melanin(a natural pigment). It all depends on which one you think looks better.

Red foxes tend to look friendlier and would make more of an approachable pet to some people, whilst the silver fox looks more dangerous and unfriendly. These are only how they appear, so I recommend you choose which one looks better to you.

You can have foxes for pets?!

Do they need special requirements or someting or are they just like dogs?

Anyway, the red one looks prettier to me.

Uh, no. They aren't anywhere near the same as dogs, but at the same time can be treated like dogs.

  • They have their own special pet food.
  • You can't have a pet snake, or ever have had one in the house. (They won't trust you, ever.)
  • You have to trim their nails, all the time.
  • Checkups need to be issued regularly.
  • They have to be supervised at all times, cannot be left around children.
  • When you leave for somewhere, you have to put them in their pen.
  • Make sure to watch them when windows are open, they will jump out. (Even if there is a screen.)
  • You can treat them commands, just like dogs.

Yes they are legal to have as pets, but only in 7 of the States.
