dragon2611
As per title really, it seems the netcode in Halo MCC is completely and utterly useless at establishing connections. I tried to do co-op with a friend and it wouldn't connect, I have both Virgin Media and Plusnet connections here, he has Virgin Media, He's using their superhub1 and I have a pretty complex network setup involving load balancing however to eliminate this I unplugged my Virgin SH2ac (Running in modem only mode) from the router/firewall I usually have it connected to and connected it directly to the xbox, I also rebooted the SH2 (required when changing the connected device in bridge mode) The Xbox successfully DHCP'd to VM's network and had a publicly routable IP address at this point the Xbox was directly connected to the internet, no NAT no Firewalls to get in the way. Yet still Halo MCC would not establish a session between players, so I'm at a loss what to do here, if the game cannot connect 2 people on the same ISP with the host's xbox having the actual public ip address of the connection and no NAT/Firewalls then what exactly does one need to do to get this game to connect properly? Fishy
Of course it won't establish a connection between 2 players. Halo 2 was never meant to have online coop. They just threw it in there like that. Halo:CE only works online because 343i did an appropriate adjustment to it on the X360, whereas Halo 2 was only used on the original Xbox. You couldn't get it from the market store or (for most people) play the disc on the X360. The game just wasn't meant for online campaign to be slapped onto it and hoped to work. No matter how good your connection is, you'll still have problems. Glitches, bugs, lag, etc. The only thing you can do is LAN or Local Play it. If you're wanting full experience. dragon2611
So what you are basically saying is they did a half arsed job of implementing the on line mode.
Jack Of Harts
So what you are basically saying is they did a half arsed job of implementing the on line mode. More so that Microsoft didn't give them enough time to properly test it. It really should've had a Beta, and a delayed release.
Caboose The Ace
No its not half arsed, not quite. Simply put as Fishy said, HALO 2 WAS NEVER MEANT FOR ONLINE CO-OP. There is only so much you can do.... but then again MCC being a total mess does not help.
BerriesBoo
MMC still have alot of things to fix the bugs or glitches, so, you'll have to wait until they're fixed with the Mulitplayer. It happened to me few months ago with a friend.
