iTz KeeFy
Your hard drive could be the issue. I would transfer all of your hard drive memory over to a usb. You can always transfer it back if it doesn't fix it.

Absolute Dog
There could be a few different issues. Start with the easy ones first. You do not need the DLC, or map packs, to play in Reach. You may have had an issue with an update. Simply go to your settings in the dash board and select the memory. Once in the memory menu look down to the bottom left and it shows an option selection. I believe it is the "Y" button, select and then clear your cache. This will free the system buffer, for lack of a better way to explain it, and when you load Reach you should be offered an "update" request. It could be that simple. You can also post a question here in XBOX live forums for direct and quick feedback. Hope this helps.

But if its just a DLC message saying he doesn't have the recommended content, then he can still play, just on those maps, or on the select DLC playlist
iTz KeeFy
how do I do this? thanks plug a usb.drive into the usb port on the xbox (where you plug controllers in). Then go to system settings then memory. You can click the items in your memory and it will say move, copy, or delete. Click move, then it will ask where to transfer it and pick usb.
