VinWarrior
The Halo franchise has reached a prodigious mile-stone, selling over 65 million units on all platforms to date! Halo is a legendary series that we've all come to know and love, though it's changed in many ways over the years, it has still managed to keep a sense of magic and awe to it. It's been reported by IGN.com that the game series has sold a combined total of over 65 million units worldwide on the original Xbox, the Xbox 360, and of course the younger grandson, the Xbox One. It is very likely that these numbers will grow higher with the upcoming release of Halo 5: Guardians, and because of it, sales for Halo: The Master Chief Collection may also increase. What is surprising is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection only sold about 1 million copies in its first week, with factors like a broken launch and a new platform tying into the retrospectively small outcome. This year marks the 14th anniversary for the legendary franchise, and Halo 5: Guardians will be the 8th game in the franchise, excluding remasters and mobiles. All information and images sourced from Microsoft at SDCC, 343 Industries, and IGN. This post has been promoted to an article
rrhuntington
Also another factor is that those are games you already played before. Even So... Long Live Halo

Fishy
I'm going to admit. Like 30-40 of those are mine. Probably because I had to buy them again.

Caboose The Ace
It can only get better from here. On this 14 years milestone its pretty interesting to reflect on how the franchise has changed over the years. For example the Halo franchise started with boring clichéd characters to well developed and interesting characters. For as much flak as people give 343 they have really nailed it with story and characters that are leagues above Bungie. LONG LIVE THE HALO EMPIRE! Melody
This is an achievement even the devs can enjoy! Now let's hope Halo 5 is going to be as good as Microsoft and 343 are making it to be so far.
Is not JL
If only playlist populations reflected those numbers...
Twinreaper
My only problem with this àrticle and news is that it is WIDELY MISLEADING AND MISSING INFORMATION. Selling 65 Million units worldwide is ONLY from Microsoft's own shipments. Microsoft can track how much product they ship to retailers and what they sold in their own venues...but Halo itself at retail poimt HAS NOT sold 65 million units. Unless I am to believe that IGN itself has personally contacted every single past and present retailer of video game merchandise soince Halo was born.. the article is only accurate from a wholesale point.. which is not impressive. Zaku_John
Congratulations to Halo, Microsoft, Bungie, and 343i. It's been a wild ride. Happy to say I've purchased my share of the 65 Million.
