Popular Post Axilus Prime
On the morning of October third, I woke up, washed my face, and ate some breakfast. As usual, I loaded up the site first chance I got (which with the return of power to my house after the devastating typhoon that struck Saipan, was immediately) and saw an odd notification. A new comment, from none other than sonic exe42. I was surprised, since normally I only get those from Fishy, with regard to DBZ Abridged. That stuff is awesome, by the way, but I digress. The first thing that came to mind, actually, was that I might be the new member of the month and it was a congratulations. I had occasionally wondered in the past if I'd get that distinction. But my mind dismissed the thought as silly while I loaded up my profile to view the comment. Then my eyes grew wide. Because on my profile was the biggest surprise I've ever had in all my time here: my own group being listed as Member of the Month. I scrolled down. It was indeed a congratulations. And so I went to the Member of the Month topic posted by RSR. I read the main post. I read all the comments, and liked them all to offer my thanks (except Saral's. Keep your like count excellent as it is, my friend.), sincerely honored to see all the congratulations and comments about my Halo skills and advice. In that moment, I felt wonderful because I could see that I've actually been of help, and honored that all of you either thought I had already been MoM or that I had it coming for quite some time. The irony is that a few months ago, I once told Bnus I believed I had very little chance of being MoM. He told me differently, but I never quite believed him. You were right though, Master of Bread. So I thank you all, not only for the motherhood itself but for believing that I truly deserved it. It really does mean a lot to me. There are far too many of you to list individually and knowing how bad I am with names I'd probably miss a few by accident and be completely embarrassed the next time I saw you post or shout. So unfortunately, I can't do a Fishy-style individual address. I will say that I felt a bit of pressure with the honor as well. But that isn't really a bad thing in this case. You guys showed a high regard for my Halo skills in the campaign area, and with the power having just recently returned, the day I was awarded MoM was also the day of my return to Halo after a forced 2 month break. I was a bit nervous that my skills might have dropped, but thank God, that doesn't seem to be the case. A nice deficit of deaths throughout a Halo 2 playthrough and a particularly crazy encounter during the Regret boss fight showed me that. That encounter...it definitely fits in with the Osiris cinematic somewhat. Given that I was on Legendary and have no Spartan Abilities I find that absolutely insane. A sword Elite charged me after surprising me around a corner. I just barely sidestepped, only to find ANOTHER coming around the corner. I jumped over them both at that point, avoiding two simultaneous swings, then turned around and used the Plasma Pistol and Carbine combo on both. As I went back to my original position, a third came around, and I had to do the same to him. Then I saw a red dot on my radar coming up behind me way too fast to be a Grunt, jumped backwards over him, and performed the combo on what turned out to be yet another sword Elite. Then a few plasma rounds hit me in the back and I spun around while moving behind a pillar just in time to not die. When he came around the pillar I ended up having to quickly combo the Plasma Rifle Elite responsible, finishing with a downed shield and narrowly dodging a blast from Regret that I heard coming from the left. All that craziness in a span of 10 seconds. What motivated me throughout the whole thing though was upholding the standard RSR mentioned in the MoM post itself. So if you guys ever need help with any section of CE, 2, 3, or 4...just ask. I'll do my absolute best to help you. You can post requests here, in fact. The other part of the pressure was Halo 5 related. While I can't offer any help in the area of LASO, I'm honored that you guys expect tips from me in Halo 5 as well. I don't know when I can get it...but whenever that time comes, I'll make sure to deliver. See, the pressure here is good in a way because it gives me a reason not to let you guys down. There's a standard for me to continue to meet and I will always aim to do so. An interesting fact is that the month I was given this title is the month of my birth. So I guess, in a way, I can see this as an early birthday present from you guys. It's certainly a nice one. Once again, thanks to all of you. Honor to the end!

Halo6 Follower
Great MoM post Axilus! Great detail and I loved the Halo 2 story, wish I could play that well. (I struggle sometimes to walk through the breakable glass, don't even get me started on the Covenant...) Can't wait until you get an Xbox One, but it is a pricey investment and internet hog so I can understand if it be obtained soon. Still, though, I will be counting down the days until I can play Halo with Axilus himself! (Made even better by the fact that we share the same time) Well, you deserve this mate. Enjoy your month in pink! You did it!! (So sorry xD) Edited October 5, 2015 by HaloWeen Follower
