Joseph Dinnis
Well finished Halo 5 in 5 hours and 17 minutes... Developers said it would be twice as long as part 4 was which was 8-9 hours ish. This makes me feel they lied to make extra sales which at 80 AUD 5 hours is a sad joke. The game was pretty but did not feel as fun as part 4 did. I expected far more from 343 then cheap lies to make a dollar. Shame.
RedStarRocket91
There's a lot of factors at play here. The 8-9 hours estimate is, after all, just an estimate, and can be heavily affected by things such as difficulty and number of teammates: playing solo on Legendary, the game took me just under 12 hours to complete, which is about four hours more than it took me to finish Halo 4. I can only assume that you were playing on one of the lower difficulties or with friends: if so, try moving up to something harder or playing solo, and you'll find the game lasts a lot longer.
Ranger Intel
I completed Halo 5 Solo Heroic in about 6 hours. As RedStar mentioned, there are several variables that affect how fast you finish the campaign. Take his recommendations, then feel free to share how long Halo 5's Campaign took you. I'll admit, there were 3 missions which were under 5 minutes long (the ones in which you talk to other and have your weapon lowered), but I wouldn't say that 343 Industries came up with 'cheap lies to make a dollar'. You should really consider the quality of the Campaign, that is what makes it good.
Caboose The Ace
To carry on about what Spartan was saying.... To me its honestly quantity rather than quantity. Look at me playing Mgs v Gz, the game is quality, yet short. But I got far more hours and good memories might I add out of that game than something like GTA V. Or Mgs 3 Snake Eater. The game takes 15 hours to complete. But it in my top ten games of all time list because of the quality of everything. Overall I have probably put over 60 hours into the game overall. And that is more than I can say for something like the Mad Max game. That game has hundred of hours of content. But yet that hardly means anything because its quantity over quality. My point is you can get far more hours out of a game that is quality rather than something that is not. And even if you cannot your memories of the game stick with you far longer than a game that is mainly quantity. I still think about the good memories I have from the Halo 4 Campaign even now because the campaign is so well made, despite its short length and despite the fact I have not played it for three years. Can I say the same for something like Mad Max? The game I played recently? Nope. And from what I have seen the gameplay of Halo 5 is quality and ripe with replaybailty and you may get more hours out of it than other fps games because of the replay value and quality gameplay. And as Red says, it does not hurt to try legendary mode. Edited October 28, 2015 by Caboose The Ace

Well there was as promised, 15 missions. 343 just did not specify how long those missions were.
Is not JL
Those 3 missions where you're in Alert Carry could be completed in a minute, but you can also spend so much more time walking around listening to people. Mission 9 has some of the best characters.

I see your point, and it is a valid one, although the campaign was not a disappointment. As JL stated, those 'missions' could have had more time spent on them socialising with other people.
