SomeCreepinaVan
In a arena styled game you should be able to hear other players within 12 feet. This would add another dimension to the game. Don't allow party chat in certain gamemodes either.
Fishy
Simple. Boosting. The Halo developers are against boosting as any other company. Even if you won't boost, it's still an option for other players. That and there's ton of other reasons and stuff to get around that.
Unease Peanut
Restricting my party acces with gamemodes would make me never play those gamemodes. Bad idea...
Caboose The Ace
I'd be all up for proximity chat but restricting party access is just dumb and is a terrible idea. Those gamemodes would become ghost towns in seconds.
Azaxx
Why add proximity in the first place? Parties exist for a reason, there's literally no benefit to proximity voice chat over party/standard game chat. Immersion is not an excuse either, you're a spartan, you have comms.
