eliawesome
I hate when developers that have made a great game says that in their next game they wanna attract a more cassual audience to play their games but what happens is that the developers is only making their next game much easier and not as fun as the first one. Just look at dragon age origins a good tactcal game but dragon age 2 was only super easy buttonmashing. And i also felt a bit in halo reach that it was more for the cassual audience then it was for the pro halo fans. So please 343 dont try to attract any cassual audience in halo 4. MCPO Mayh3m
I think that in order to keep the fan base that they have held over the years, they need to appeal to both the Hardcore gamers and the Casual. Someone made a topic that said they need to bring back the Ranked and Social playlist like Bungie incorporated into Halo 3. That is what they need to do in my opinion.
Absolute Dog
Casual players have been part of the game from the beginning. I, back in the early days of Halo 2, would have been considered a casual player. Though I am not a "hard core" player, I am a "hard core" fan of the original part of the Halo series. It is possible to create a game in Halo 4 that reflects the continuation of the series that follows Halo 3, stay true to it's roots and bring new advances to the game. This short interview, that includes Josh Holmes, supports my thoughts. It may be true the casual player was more in the mind in the current game, but 343ind. does see the need to address both types of players. Simply put, we just have to wait until more information is released before we make to much of the issue. I for one want more competitive ranked play in the format similar to H2 and H3 where there was a full ranked play list and a full social play list. The system of ranking players needs more work, but I am confident 343ind. will do their best to offer the fans the best that they can.

Father B
So… you want 343 Industries to commit commercial suicide? Now, I'm no expert on marketing or economics, but something tells me that would be a terrible idea. Segregation is preferable to elimination. So, what the other guys here have said about the separate Ranked and Social playlists is the best bet. Period.
