GakMan33
I purchased Halo CE for my PC and I can get it installed to the point I click play game on the main screen but then it doesn't go past that point and closes. I have Windows 8.1 and after reading some sites was advised I needed to download patch 1.10. The link to that patch is no longer valid. I was wondering where I should go to get this patch and whether that would fix the issue of the game not working on Windows 8.1. Halo 2 isn't working either but I haven't had time to research that yet. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. I have never played either game before and was excited to finally see what al the hype was about in regards to these games. Thanks!
BATMAN
Hello! I remember when I played HCE all the time as a kid-- there's no way I could deny helping someone get into it! The link I'll provide will actually take you to a site where you can get a ton of custom maps from; I used it all the time back in the day. So, the link you're looking for is also a great place to kick off some custom content. http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6798 If you'd like a little more research, a great reference is the Halo wiki. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halo_PC_Patches If these can't help, the only other place I can think to point to is http://halo-fixes.findforum.net/t47-how-to-update-to-1-10

HARDCORE GAMES
http://www.hardcoregames.biz/windows-kb3086255-ms15-097/ Hopefully its not too technical to fix Windows to run Halo: CombaT Evolved and other CD/DVD based games Microsoft decided to beat up on old games, like who do they think they are? I also wrote a loader for Halo: Combat Evolved to automatically detect the screen resolution and use it. http://www.hardcoregames.biz/halo-loader/
