I have not heard anything, but I will do some research and try to get an answer for you either way. I too would like to see some attention given to the game. It deserves it and would be a good idea anyways to get more people back into the MM and even replay the campaign to get into the that feeling again for the next game of the series.

Why would a 4 year old game receive an update? I'm not putting you down or anything, I am just curious as to your reasoning why it would make financial sense and by what would 343 would stand to gain from shifting engines? To be honest, it's an outdated graphics layer and engine. Not to mention we have no idea what kind of programming sources Bungie left to 343. Chances are, the source code for Halo 3 and the Guerilla/Sapien/Tool toolset was not passed on to them. if it was, then it still leaves the matter of devoting a team to work on Halo 3 updates, instead of having more resources to develop content for Halo 4.

I'm 100% positive that they won't make another Title Update for Halo 3 for a couple of reasons.

 

1. Different engine than what their games are on, basically obsolete. (Twin stated that)

2. It's 4 years old. (Twin also stated)

3. Max amount of players at ANY given time is about 10 thousand.

4. They are working on things for the future of gaming, like Halo 4.

5. Honestly, they don't have the time, effort, or quantity to dedicate a team for Halo 3.

 

 

PS. Bungie Favorites are like a year and a half old! xD

Lol. what? And how are you a moderator then?

 

 

This is a fan made site, not the real one, so, its probably not the same characistics for moderator as it is for the official site.

 

Also, as people have stated, why would they make an old game have a TU? Halo 3 is practially dead, just being honest.

Agreed, a full TU is probably a bit much for a game with such a small population.

Still, I'd quite like to see a few updates to playlists, map and game variant weightings etc. Surely that couldn't be too much to ask?

 

I kno, all im asking is they fix the lag issue and update the playlists a little.
