Now it looks like Amazon is aiming to hold Prime Day in September, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal. The annual event is arguably the biggest sales event of the year in the US outside of Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and it always presents a great opportunity to pick up games and tech for drastically reduced prices. The Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has begun accepting bulk orders of non-essential products from third-party sellers, which appears to be a big step in the right direction for an event as huge as Prime Day. For the past couple of months, Amazon has understandably been prioritizing essential home goods, so stock shortages and shipping delays on products such as PS4, Xbox One, and Switch games have been common. However, Amazon is still getting back up to speed, and fast one- or two-day shipping might not return for all products right away. Prime Day is a two-day event that has run in mid-July every year since its inception in 2015, which was initially billed as a celebration of Amazon's 20th birthday. You need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of the deals. A membership costs $119 per year or $13 per month, but you can also sign up for a free 30-day trial if you're a new subscriber.
