343iBot
It's got some strong competition, but Cyberpunk 2077 might just be the biggest game of 2020. It's the follow-up to developer CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, GameSpot's 2015 Game of the Year. Cyberpunk shifts the developer's focus from the past to the future, but the choice-driven storytelling, strong characters, and evocative world-building CDPR is known for all look to be intact. If you're looking to pre-order the game on PS4, Xbox One, or PC, there are a few things you may want to consider, such as where you want to get it and what edition you want. Developers CD Projekt Red showed off extensive gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077 during a livestream on last August, where we got a closer look at the combat, customization, setting, and more. We're set to learn more about the game later this month, as CDPR has announced a Cyberpunk 2077 livestream with info on the game set for June 25. The game is based on Mike Pondsmith's tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020, so the 2020 release date makes total sense. However, the game itself is set 57 years later in the futuristic android-filled world of Night City, where android augmentations are an integral part of people's lives. There looks to be plenty of deep customization and lots of options when it comes to first-person combat. The team has confirmed Cyberpunk 2020 will not have microtransactions, will be DRM-free on PC, and have DLC similar in size to Wild Hunt.
