343iBot Posted June 30, 2020 Report Share Posted June 30, 2020 Fans have been waiting for Fortnite: Save The World to become free-to-play like its battle royale counterpart for years. Epic Games has said that it would come soon at multiple points, but now we know it's not happening as all Fortnite modes finally exit Early Access. "Today we’re bringing Save the World out of Early Access and have decided that it will remain a premium experience rather than going free-to-play," Epic Games said in a post on their official site. "Development of new content will slow down after this official release, but the adventure doesn’t end here for Save the World." Epic Games went on to say that the Early Access label will be removed from the battle royale and creative game modes in Fortnite as well. Save the World, Fortnite's horde mode that came before the incredibly popular battle royale, will no longer support new cosmetics from the battle royale mode starting sometime in the "coming months" according to Epic.
