If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you'll start to see the first signs of the fall season in your game, which brings a palette shift to your weeds and trees, as well as other new developments. Eventually, mushrooms and maple leaves will appear, but that's not quite happening yet. The interior of Nook's Cranny will also change to suit the new season. As usual, the array of bugs and fish available change from month to month, so check out our linked guides to see what you can catch to fill up your museum. It's still unclear if Animal Crossing: New Horizons will receive a new content update like August's--which brought dreaming to the game--or the patch that introduced swimming earlier this summer. Given the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic on game development, it wouldn't be surprising if the pace of updates slows down, but we don't know as of yet.
