Mr Biggles
a lot of people don't understand, when they first join how to become a respected member and how to be well known in the forums, judging from past experiences, i will give a lot of dos and don't's in simple, easy posts. 1. Introduce yourself in a respectable manner. What i basically mean by this is go to this link: http://www.343indust...tions-goodbyes/ then, tell us everything about yourself, who you are, possible occupation, what you want to be when your older, what you bring to this forum, you know, anything that can help you to be seen as a nice guy who wants to contribute to the forum, as, it will show you in a good light from the start. 2. Use the shoutbox frequently, engage in conversations! If you use the shoutbox frequently and always join in gaming conversations and have fun there, it will show to other members you are willing to contribute to anything, and seem like a nice guy, trust me, the shoutbox is arguably more important then the forum becuase it is quick instant rplies, and people will read it instantly and have an opinion of you much quicker then that of reading your forum posts, but, that doesn't mean the forum isn't important, they both have their ways of making you well known. 3. Quality over quantity in the forums. the number one rule in the forums is to not spam needlessly, you will be seen as a person who just wants to get his post count up and has no respect for the quality side of it, and will be disliked by the majority of forum and just be seen as "another spammer." If you post with quality, you will be seen as very informative and a helpful person, and most of all gain respect, which is really what it is all about, if you keep posting with quality, you will be loved and respected, and you will go a long way. 4. Don't start arguments and don't cause trouble This may seem really obvious, but, you won't believe the amount of people who love to cause trouble & think they're clever by doing it, however, they come across as just trouble and they don't want to be talked to or be acknowledged, simply because they come across as a ****** and don't want to be talked to, that doesn't mean you have to be, you can be a nice normal guy who respects people and loves to just be friends with everyone. 5. Always try to help lesser players with Good advice. If someone wants help on how to become a better player, don't disregard them and let them suffer, help them, find different ways to help people and make them a better player, it will show that you have a good knowledge of the game and willing to help everyone who needs it, again, gaining respect, as you can kind of tell from the amount of posts, respect is absolutely vital and is basically the most important part in the forum, respect. 6. Always participate in competitions and giveaways. This again shows your active and are willing to be an active part of the community without taking it too far, and you can even win prizes and get stuff out of this forum, which is something rare in any forums. All of these tips shown above can help you become a respected and well known member, who will gain loads of respect from everyone and gain lots of respect from the "respectable Halo family." i hope this post has shown new members how they can be a big part of the community, because, that's what everyone should try to be, a leader and an idol in these forums.
