Starting today, PC players using supported Nvidia GPUs and DirectX12 can enable ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS while playing Fortnite. If you're still not quite sure what ray tracing is, here's a quick rundown: ray tracing is a rendering technique used in 3D graphics to create an image by tracing the path of light as pixels in an image and simulating the effects it has on any virtual objects it encounters. So what does that mean for Fortnite? According to the Fortnite team, they're now delivering improved ambient occlusion, shadows, reflections, and real-time global illumination. In short, this will make lighting effects like shadows and reflections look more life-like.
