343iBot
FarmVille is finally shutting down after 11 years. Developer and publisher Zynga will no longer support the game once companies like Adobe, Facebook, and Google stop supporting the Flash Player that FarmVille runs on at the end of this year. "Following an incredible 11 years since its initial launch back in 2009, we are officially announcing the closure of the original FarmVille game on Facebook," Zynga wrote on its official support site. "As previously stated, Adobe will stop distributing and updating Flash Player for all web browsers, and Facebook will stop supporting Flash games on the platform completely after December 31st, 2020. FarmVille will therefore be directly affected as a result of this." The game will be playable up until December 31, but will be completely shutoff afterwards. In-app purchases will be shut off on November 17. Zynga encouraged players to move to FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape, FarmVille 2: Country Escape, and FarmVille 3, which soft launched in 2019 but still isn't widely available, on mobile.
