343iBot Posted November 13, 2020 Report Share Posted November 13, 2020 The original Demon's Souls is a remarkably dark game filled with lava, monsters, and gore, but it also had one bizarrely wholesome element: a photograph of a developer's cat used for one of the game's rings in the user interface. Unfortunately, this is one feature that looks like it wasn't carried over into the PS5 remake. they... ruined the cat ring icon in demon's souls(left original, right remake)uninstalling rn pic.twitter.com/GAAOKjNBgv — Iron Pineapple (@IronPineapple_) November 13, 2020 Equip the Cat Ring in Demon's Souls now, and you'll see apparently see a silhouette of a cat in place of the white fuzzy face we remember so well--we haven't gotten the item in our own game yet. The new icon certainly tells you the same information, but it is significantly less goofy. The Cat Ring is also one of the most useful items in the game, nullifying most fall damage, so there is a very good chance you will want to have it equipped. According to one user on Twitter, the icon actually is still in the game, but as more of a cameo appearance during the credits. It's better than nothing, but we'd like to see Bluepoint do the right thing and patch that adorable kitty back into the UI where it belongs.
