People often quit during DMRs/Pro/TU gametypes.

Because of personal reasons, I took a year off Halo(My longest break from Halo since Day 1 of Halo 1) and just recently came back. To my surprise, the TU updated that was implemented fixed many of the nagging issues I had with Reach. Unfortunately, it seems that TU games in TS as well as Pro and DMR gametypes rarely get voted. When they do, people often quit. I do not understand why. I am often forced to play AR starts with radar on and a few AAs that I think are kind of ridiculous....but it is Halo. I play it, I have fun with it, and I understand that part of the beauty of Halo is the insane amount of options to adjust the way the game plays. If I play YOUR preferred way of playing 70%-80% of the time, why can't you stick it out during a gametype that might not be your favorite?

Sure, I could go play MLG, and sometimes I do. But I also enjoy ARs, AAs(except Armor Lock) and BTB too.

A lot of people just don't like the DMR as a starting weapon, because they feel it turns every game into a campfest and because it gives little incentive to move around the map and acquire power weapons. I'm with them on the second point, and kind of with them on the first.

I kind of wish Slayer DMRs/Pro had their own playlist, it would stop so many arguments and ensure that Elite Slayer would actually show up once in a while outside of special test weeks.

I do not really understand how DMR gametypes promote camping. In fact, power weapons are a great way to dislodge campers. I have played tens of thousands of multiplayer matches throughout Halo's history. Camping has never really been a viable tactic. Maybe if you get the sword or shotty you can manage a few cheap kills, but anyone with a little bit of awareness can easily dispose of a camper in Halo.

I can maybe see what you are saying, in the sense that DMR gametypes can promote map control, as in holding a certain area if you have the power weapons. But this strategy is a) rarely used in TS and b)can also apply to AR starts, especially if the pistol is a secondary weapon. I really do not want to sound like an elitest prick....but sometimes i think that people are just scared to play with DMRs, because pacing headshots is much more difficult than holding down a trigger (pump firing if you know what you are doing).

Halo multiplayer is what it is today because of precision weapons, mainly the Halo 1 pistol. While I do not think TS should always be DMRs, at the least people should have the decency to stay when it does get voted. As for its own playlist, I could agree with that. But I do not agree with that so Elite Slayer will show up. Honestly, Elite Slayer should have its own playlist to give DMR gametypes more love in TS.

Now that I completely agree with. Quitting is acceptable if your team has already left or if you are an active liability, although even then most people would frown on you. Quitting just because you didn't get the gametype you wanted is just pathetic.

As for the rest of your points, I respectfully disagree. I think on a lot of maps, particularly the more open ones, DMR starts really do encourage camping, even if it's unintentional: I know if it's a DMR start that I risk going out into the open significantly less than with vanilla Slayer. I feel it applies less in DMR because since the Assault Rifle is such a close-range weapon people feel safer moving out across the map and actually going for the exposed areas where power weapons live.
