Tornadus is back in Pokemon Go for a limited time. The Legendary Cyclone Pokemon has returned to five-star Raids as part of the game's Season of Legends. Not only does this give you another chance to catch the Legendary if you've previously missed it, but this time around you'll also be able to encounter its Shiny form. If you need some assistance, we've rounded up some tips to help you beat and catch Tornadus below.

Tornadus Raid Schedule

Incarnate Forme Tornadus is appearing in five-star Raid Battles again until 8 AM local time on March 11, giving you only a couple of days to catch it. Before you can participate in a Tornadus Raid, you'll need to have either a Raid Pass (to join the battle in-person) or a Remote Raid Pass (to join the battle remotely). Both are available to purchase, but you can also get one Remote Raid Pass as part of Niantic's free weekly item bundles, which are available in Pokemon Go's in-game shop every Monday in March.

Tornadus

Following Tornadus's departure on March 11, Incarnate Forme Thundurus will return to Raids until March 16. After that, Niantic will bring all three Forces of Nature back to the game in their Therian Formes--the first time these variants will be available in Pokemon Go. Therian Forme Tornadus will appear starting March 30.

How To Catch Shiny Tornadus

As previously mentioned, you'll have a chance to encounter Shiny Tornadus during its current stint as a Raid boss. However, your odds of finding one are fairly small, and there's no way to tell if Tornadus is Shiny until you've beaten it in battle and made it to the catching phase. If you're looking to catch a Shiny version, your best chance is to participate in as many Tornadus Raids as you can before the Legendary leaves the game again.

Tornadus Weaknesses And Counters

Unlike the other two Forces of Nature, Tornadus is a pure Flying-type Pokemon, which makes it vulnerable only to Ice, Rock, and Electric types. Any Pokemon of those types will be especially helpful when you're battling the Legendary, but you can see some solid recommendations for each below:

• Ice: Lapras, Mamoswine, Glaceon, Weavile, Kyurem, Galarian Darmanitan
• Rock: Golem / Alolan Golem, Tyranitar, Rhyperior, Rampardos, Omastar, Regirock
• Electric: Zapdos, Mega Ampharos, Raikou, Electivire, Luxray, Zekrom

Types To Avoid

Flying Pokemon have an advantage over Fighting, Bug, and Grass Pokemon, so you'll want to avoid using monsters of those types when battling Tornadus. The Legendary may also have a Dark- or Grass-type attack at its disposal, which is something to keep in mind if you bring along Rock, Ground, or Psychic Pokemon.
