343iBot
Bungie is planning to add cross-play to Destiny 2 soon, but it looks as if a switch got flipped early. Players have been reporting that they've been using the cross-play feature, prompting a response from Bungie acknowledging the mistake. Several players took to Twitter to say they were enjoying the cross-play. One fan asked for confirmation, which received a response from lead community manager Cozmo. They stated that cross-play went up early by mistake, and a fix is coming later this week that will disable it again. Until then, though, you can try it out. Just be aware that Bungie says it is "not representative of the full experience," so you may hit bugs that it's still fixing. Bungie did not specify when to expect a final release of the feature. It has previously stated that cross-play would be coming in Season 15, which is set to arrive sometime in August. We are seeing reports that some players are able to get a sneak peek at Crossplay. This isn't meant to be live yet and is not representative of the full experience. We will be implementing a fix to remove public access later this week, but in the meantime feel free to partake. https://t.co/CKOfg1Fpq6 — Cozmo (@Cozmo23) May 12, 2021 In the meantime, Season 14, aka the Season of the Splicer is now live. The launch hit a snag that took the game offline for a few hours, but it quickly returned. The new season introduces big changes to the transmog system, along with reworks to the PvP ranks, rebalancing for the stasis subclasses, and lots of other changes.
