I honestly will not be excited until I hear about a ranking system.

If there is no ranking system in place like 1-50, I will be utterly disappointed and may ultimately fail to buy this Halo game. Halo has always had a competitive following and a social, more casual following. While the casual players have games like Reach and CoD, the competitive population misses having the thrill of each game in Team Slayer being worth something. I don't feel any remorse when I quit a game in CoD or Reach, but I sure as hell felt remorse if I quit or got disconnected in Halo 2 and Halo 3.

I hope they address they question in the coming week, so that way if there is no ranking system I don't have to waste my time getting hyped up for a game that ultimately won't be fun for me to play.

I understand your point of view but you shouldn't really totally write off Halo 4. I mean, I hope they bring back the Halo 3 ranking system (No dount it would be little different if they did) then I'd be happy as I wasn't a huge fan on Halo Reach's cRedit system. There's always the campaign to play if you feel they f***ed up on some aspects of the multiplayer. :X

Winning doesn't mean skill, onl means how much your stacked team can win haha, they need a clan playlist, and KDR based tbh read this post of mine see what you think http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/6213-ranking-system-for-halo4-my-opinion/page__hl__rank__fromsearch__1

If there is no deranking, then games don't hold weight. Period. Everyone can easily look and W/L ratios in CoD and Halo Reach, but no one does.

Everyone cries about skill, you can;t exactly calculate true skill at all. RANK means nothing, if you want to know their good look at their stats, they should have a ranked and social playlist. ONE for rank + de rank which is stupid being held over winning, = stacked teams 24/7. Social for people who just want to stay away from aggressive game players who take things way to seriously and want to enjoy the game for what it is. There should be a clan list too like i said before. If they have a rank and de ranking system, they need to implement what i said and it is possible.

The game will still be competiitive, as they addressed in the video. As much as I want a 1-50 ranking system, I will still buy this game if it doesn't exist because of how impressed I was from the fast paced gameplay they showed. I am the biggest supporter of a 1-50 matchmaking system and I still was blown away by that video.

You can't have a competitive game if there is nothing to lose.

Think back to when you would play halo 2 and halo 3, and it was 45-45 in team slayer. Think about that adrenaline rush that was associated with each kill and death from that point on, knowing that if you lost, you could rank down or if you won, you could rank up.

Your team coalesced because you were fighting for a common cause.

Now what happens in Halo reach? You are lucky if the match even ends in 4v4, and there is no ranking based on skill (because so many people quit games and flat out don't care.)

TruSkill is flawed in some ways, but it was fun.
