Amplified Fury
I honestly didn't know how to describe this in the topic title, but it seems in matchmaking lets say, hemorrhage team snipers, that when i'm looking at someone, and i can barely JUST barely see the tip of their head, they snipe me. It seems it would make sense that in order to even see me, i need to completely see their head. It was kind of like this in halo 3 also. It really bothers me that i basically don't get a shot against him while he blows me to bits.
Mr Biggles
it's how it works, if you are sniping, both trying to hide, if he has positioned himself for better cover, he wins, if you learn to position better, you will win.
Drizzy_Dan
Try to take him out from the side not from the front
Lᴜᴋᴇ
You need to learn to effectively use cover, and how much of you it covers whilst still being able to look out.
ZB-85
I understand how you feel. That always happens to me every time I play team snipers. You just got to get him before he gets you, thats really the only thing that you can do. Maybe shoot him from the side or back. Those shots are just as effective. Absolute Dog
Amplified, typically if the opposing sniper has line of site on you, you should be able to get it on him. You mentioned Hemorrhage as the example. If sniping from the ground across the map, it may appear the enemy sniper is virtually invisible to you. The grass and rounded mounds play a role in what you see. Typically if he has you in sight and you find him and are scanning him looking for the red reticle for a shot, you are most likely loosing the race for the "lock". It will also happen around corners and flat horizontal surfaces. Your line of sight to his head won't always be a full view, so either practice a slower scan of him if possible or try a jumping snipe shot. Even at a marginal distance the jump may give you the angel needed. To me, quality snipers are the highest form of intimidation and are known imposing dread against their lesser opponents. Just keep practicing and dying, you will hopefully excel in the future.
Twinreaper
From what get from his post he is saying that the enemy sniper is behind cover and was able to shoot him from that cover. the projectiles fire from tje camera and not weapon origin which calls in to.question for me...... did the enemy use a wall glitch to shoot him or possibly a wall hack. Drizzy_Dan
I think it's just a simple shoot through cover he's talking about, the shoot through cover's been around since Halo 3. The crashed Pelican on Valhalla was an excellent place for that.

The crashed Pelican on Valhalla was an excellent place for that. Yes, it is a line of sight issue. He is only getting a glimpse of the top of the enemies helmet. The rifle is buried in the map, so to speak.
valyou3
Thats how it is for just about every FPS.
The Director
Indeed, it sounds like what this person is talking about is the "Head Glitch". See, where the enemies reticle is isn't actually where there rifle is, it's a bit above it. This can be utilized quite effectively in team snipers while taking cover. Biggles should know what I'm talking about, he is the one who told me about it. (Remember, the guy in the rock on hemorrhage?) It makes it to where you can't see enough of their head to get a shot, but they can see enough of yours to.
BirdieJuice
and this is why i hate snipers on hemorrhage. the other one that's lame is when someone hides in a tower crouching behind a railing and they can shoot you but you can't shoot them.
