Activision has revealed the file size for Call of Duty: Vanguard across all platforms except PC, and you may not actually have to clear a bunch of old games off your drive in order to fit it this time. This is especially true for Xbox platforms, and the game is available for pre-load beginning tomorrow.

On Xbox platforms, you're looking at between 56GB and 61GB, depending on whether you are playing the Xbox One or Series X|S version. PlayStation's size is about the same, though more required space during the installation process means you'll need slightly more room. The full list of file sizes is below, with PC info to arrive prior to November 2:

  • Xbox One: 56.6GB
  • Xbox Series X|S: 61GB
  • PS4: 54.65GB download with 93.12GB required space
  • PS5: 64.13GB download with 89.84GB required space

The smaller file sizes were made possible by "new on-demand texture streaming tech," according to the announcement post, resulting in up to half the file size on both new consoles and PC. Of course, with Call of Duty, the launch file size is not the final one. It may end up being double that with various updates and content additions, so keep that in mind when planning what else to install. If you do run out of space, you can always get an NVMe SSD for your PS5 or a proprietary Xbox expansion card.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is out on November 5, marking the franchise's return to World War 2 following 2017's Call of Duty: WWII. It'll also see integration with Call of Duty: Warzone, with a new Pacific map coming to the battle royale game.
