343iBot
Call of Duty: Vanguard is out now, marking another installment of one of the games industry's biggest franchises and a return to the WW2 setting. Call of Duty tends to last long-term on the strength of its multiplayer and Warzone modes, but how long can you expect the single-player story campaign to last? According to our reviewer, the campaign will last approximately six hours, which is fairly typical for a modern Call of Duty campaign. The campaign doesn't appear to have any secrets or collectibles to boost replay, though you may be tempted to replay stages to collect all of the Trophies or Achievements. Those are based mostly around how you take down enemy units. A sniper mission might task you with never missing a shot, while a stealth mission could have you kill every enemy with a takedown. In our Call of Duty: Vanguard review, Phil Hornshaw wrote, "Elements of Vanguard feel like good additions to the franchise, but its ideas also don't always mix well with the series' framework. That framework is still strong, and the solid gunplay, exciting multiplayer, and inventive moments of the campaign are worth seeking out. But forcing those two parts together exposes the seams in Call of Duty: Vanguard at times, weakening both parts of the game rather than pushing either one to the forefront." Vanguard is Sledgehammer's second game set in World War 2, but rather than focus on massive sprawling conflicts, it puts you in charge of four Special Forces members who help turn the tide of the war single-handedly.
