Call of Duty: Vanguard is experiencing some issues with server connectivity, developer Sledgehammer Games has confirmed.

Writing on Twitter, the developer said it's aware players are running into some issues with the game's multiplayer servers, promising that it's investigating the issue to find what's causing it. "We will provide an update ASAP," the developer said.

Players replied to Sledgehammer's tweet pointing out other server issues as well, including "packet burst" error messages, which GameSpot has received while playing the game.

How widespread and serious this server connectivity issues are remains to be seen, but in any event, it's no doubt very frustrating for people experiencing them.

Vanguard, which is expected to be among the best-selling games of 2021, released on November 5 for console and PC. It'll face new competition in the FPS space starting this week when Battlefield 2042 releases in early access on November 12. A few weeks later, Microsoft will release its own heavy-hitter of an FPS game, Halo Infinite.

Outside of Vanguard, Call of Duty: Warzone's new Warzone Pacific update is scheduled to go live in early December, adding a brand-new map, Caldera. This is all happening as Activision Blizzard faces lawsuits and other investigations related to sexual harassment and discrimination against women.
