If you thought it was hard enough to get a PlayStation 5, well now it might be even harder. Supply and logistical constraints have impacted many different industries across the world, and video games are no exception.

According to Bloomberg, Sony has decreased its PS5 production outlook for this fiscal year because of the shortage of components and logistical concerns. Sony has previously set a goal for more than 16 million PS5 units being assembled by the end of the fiscal year in March 2022 so it could hit its 14.8 million sales target. However, now Sony is now reportedly cutting its production goal down to 15 million so it'll be more difficult, in theory, to hit the sales target.

Nintendo is currently in a similar situation right now, as the company said that the shortage of semiconductors and other electronic parts has caused it to revise its Switch production estimates for the rest of the fiscal year. A planned 25.5 million units were slashed to 24 million by the end of March.

So far, PS5 sales have reached 13.4 million worldwide. Between July and September, an additional 3.3 million units were shipped. However, it was a weaker growth than expected, due to the ongoing component shortage.
