[GameSpot] - Genshin Impact Version 2.3 Launches On November 24

MiHoYo has announced that Genshin Impact Version 2.3 "Shadows Amidst Snowstorms" will release on November 24, and will introduce two brand-new playable characters, as well as new challenges, story content, and more.

The trailer showed off the two previously announced characters, Gorou and Arataki Itto, who will both be up for grabs during the upcoming update. The developer confirmed that Gorou is a four-star character who will wield a bow and the Geo Vision. On the other hand, Arataki Itto, will be five-stars, have a claymore, and also use the Geo Vision.

Arataki Itto is an "intrepid man" with Oni blood running through his veins. Using his claymore and the power of Geo, he can slash empowered Charged Attacks with his unique Superlative Superstrength and transform himself into the Raging Oni King, buffing his attack capabilities while lowering his Elemental and Physical Resistance.

Meanwhile, Gorou--the general of Watasumi Island's forces--will provide more buffs to characters in battle when the player has more Geo characters in the party. New backstories will be revealed during this update through Arataki Itto's Story Quest and Hangout Events for Gorou and Beidou.

During the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms main seasonal event, players will put their adventuring skills to the test with a series of challenges in the mountains of Dragonspire. Characters Albedo, Eula, Amber, and Bennett look to be making a return, as well as new rewards including the new four-star sword Cinnabar Spindle. Players will also be able to create their own "Puffy Snowmen" during this event.

Both Albedo's and Eula's Wish Events will be up for a rerun at the same time, followed by another Wish Event featuring Arataki Itto and Gorou.

Another event in Inazuma will task players with investigating the mass disappearances of small animals and a mysterious Warrior Dog. Rescuing these animals will reward players with a special Gadget that can replicate forms of some creatures in the Serenitea Pot--Genshin Impact's home-design system.

In addition, a new boss will be introduced during Version 2.3, named the Golden Wolflord, who has the ability to apply Corrosion to players, effectively lowering HP of all party members regardless of their shields. The boss can also summon Rifthound Skulls to shield itself, as well as further increase its Attack at the cost of lowering its Resistance to Geo Attacks.
