Almost six months after it was added for iOS, the PlayStation Remote Play app for Android 12 is being updated to add support for the PS5's DualSense controller. The new update also adds a number of improvements regarding compatibility with the PS4's DualShock 4 controller, but only for users on the newest version of Android.

The new update will make it a lot easier for PS5 owners to use their console on the go with Remote Play, which allows PlayStation players to use their console remotely through a mobile device or PC. With the new update, Remote Play for Android has added also added support for the DualShock 4's touchpad, motion sensor, rumble and battery indicator. While the PS4 controller is still compatible with Android 10 and 11 versions of the app, only the Android 12 version includes the new features.

Android 12 launched about a month ago, with the rollout still ongoing depending on what kind of device you have. You can force your phone to check for an update via the system settings, or check which version of Android you're on, but it may not be available for all Android devices yet.

A previous update to Remote Play on mobile added the option to play games over a mobile data connection, as well as playing over WiFi, so PlayStation players now have more options than ever to play their games on the go.
