Netflix is continuing its push into gaming with another big hire, this time mobile gaming veteran, Amir Rahimi, as the company's new VP of gaming studios.

Rahimi, who was previously the president of mobile games publisher Scopely, will be reporting to Mike Verdu, the current vice president of games at Netflix. Together the pair will be overseeing new games that will be added to the service, after the first round of titles was released to Netflix subscribers earlier this month.

"I am pleased to welcome Amir to Netflix where he will build out our games studio team and content library for Netflix Games,” explained Verdu. "His extensive experience in the games industry will be key as we look to grow our catalog of games for our members around the world to enjoy."

Netflix has only just started with its gaming ventures, releasing a handful of titles to subscribers in various regions already. These include Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, and Shooting Hoops, with a total of five games available to Android and iOS users of the Netflix app. Netflix also recently acquired Nightdive Studios, developers of Afterparty and Oxenfree, to work on new games for the service.

Stranger Things Season 4 will release in 2022 after a long time away, with Netflix teasing the next instalment of the hit show with the release of all of its episode titles.
