A former PlayStation employee has filed a lawsuit against the company for gender discrimination and wrongful termination. Former IT security analyst Emma Majo alleged in her suit against Sony that the company terminated her for speaking out regarding discrimination against women at the company.

As reported by Axios, Majo's lawsuit alleges that Sony violated the United States' Equal Pay Act, saying, "Sony discriminates against female employees, including those who are female and those who identify as female, in compensation and promotion and subjects them to a work culture predominated by men."

Majo also said she was regularly ignored by a manager who only responded to men and passed over for promotions. She also said she was fired after submitting a gender bias complaint to the company. Majo claimed in the lawsuit that she was let go from Sony because of the closure of an internal department, but according to her, she did not work in that department. The lawsuit also alleges that women struggled to get promoted at the same rate as men.

GameSpot has reached out to Sony for comment.

Majo has asked the court to expand the lawsuit to a class action on behalf of women who have worked at PlayStation. Sony is the latest gaming company to have a discrimination lawsuit filed against it, with Activision Blizzard continuing to deal with the fallout of a lawsuit by the state of California in July.
