343iBot
EA Sports has confirmed that it will continue to update and support Madden NFL 22's Franchise mode after reports suggested that the developer would not release any further updates for it. In a statement to IGN, a spokesperson for EA Sports said more updates are coming as part of Madden NFL 22's live-service approach. "We do not like to comment on rumors or speculation; however, we are committed to continuing to improve Franchise as a part of our ongoing Madden NFL 22 live-service and beyond," the spokesperson said. "This includes two upcoming Franchise updates that we'll deliver in Madden NFL 22. We will have more details on the updates in the new year." Sports Gamers Online reported recently that EA Sports opted to cancel further updates to Madden NFL 22's Franchise mode. Madden's Franchise mode has been a particular pain point for the series over the years, with fans asking for bigger, more robust updates to the mode and not always getting what they want. GameSpot's Madden NFL 22 review praised the game, in part, for its "meaningful new additions" to the Franchise mode, including new weekly strategies. "No two games are the same, and Franchise manages to strike a sweet spot where what you do off the field has a rewarding impact on what you do on it, to the point where it has fundamentally changed how you're expected to approach each match-up," reviewer Richard Wakeling said.
