Bungie made a lot of mistakes with Reach. Reach would've been better if there wasn't so many bugs/glitches with multiplayer. And they actually created some actual multiplayer levels instead of just using the campaign levels.

 

But the credit system does need fixed too, I'll agree with that.

 

 

So many bugs/glitches? What are you talking about? I don't know what game you're playing, but I've never encountered any serious bugs or glitches. The occasional WTF moment is nothing to complain about (ex: a vehicle suddenly bugging out and flying across the map). That's nothing serious or game breaking. From all my time playing, I've never seen any real bugs or glitches in ANY of the matches I've played.

I like the idea of someday becoming an inheritor but it will be probably after after everyone else moves on to Halo 6 haha. It will take me forever to get there as little as I actually play in MM. I know about how good I am and I like playing with people who are at a similar skill level to me. I don't like the credit and rank system are linked because I don't play enough to rank up. The only reason I would want to rank up is to get the armor. I have no desire to rank up and get owned continually over and over in the process of trying to do so haha.

 

I think it should be 2 parts.....

 

First Credits are awarded for Commendations and wins and losses like the...

Winner- Red Team gets 5,000cR.

Loser- Blue Team gets 1,000cR

That way I as a casual player can eventually earn enough credits to buy the cool armor

 

Secondly Rank

I think the Actual Ranking should be based off wins losses and K/D spread.

I won't have to actually rank up and play against guys with a +3 K/D spread just because I want the armor.

Your Higher Ranked players will earn credits faster so they can get the cooler armor faster and/or you could get the armor at a % discount if you are a higher rank.

 

How does that sound?

I'll try to keep it short and I hope someone from 343 comes across this or is already aware of this problem. As I'm sure most Halo trilogy fans will agree with this, one of the major issues with Halo Reach and basically why it was such an epic fail is the "time is credits" leveling system. Players must be rewarded for how they play not how long they play. Players must be able to de-rank, this sorts out the good from the bad. Also, players who win matches or who do well in matches should be given more experience than those who lose or do poorly, this will give the game a more competitive/addictive experience. With Halo 4 it is imperative that you implement a ranking system that reflects a players skill, if not the games population will slowly wither away in time and suffer the same fate as Reach.

 

And just so there's no confusion I'm not saying Halo Reach is entirely ****, the visuals(modeling, effects, animation, etc...) are absolutely amazing and the story was also good. Bungie just made a lot of stupid mistakes with the main engine, the programing side of things, the leveling system, and other things like armor abilities and bloom which I don't want to get into right now cause then i'll have a bunch of bungie fan boys telling me how they love to use armor lock and spam with the AR.

They wont make any mistakes... they are the new gods... gifted immortality by Bungie. They lurk in the clouds. building something so fabulous, the humans would die instantly if they saw any of it prematurly... For it is literally a gift... or a curse... from god.

I agree with you so much! this sounds like a good ranking system.

 

lets say you finish a game and your game completion is 700. This is an example of how your credits would be if you performed exactly the same but lost/ won!!!

 

WIN LOSE

Game Completion 700cr 700cr

Win/lose bonus 500cr 100cr (lose bonus is 100cr cus if its 0cr then you would have 0cr bonus and 0cr for streak)

Commendations 300cr 300cr

Win Streak (of 5) +10% 0%

 

Total 1,650 1,100

 

Instead of slot it should be win streak kinda like a killing spree or killing frenzy but instead its a winning spree. for winning 5 games in a row or more you get a +10% bonus and for 10 game streak a +15% and it stops there. This is a fair system that gives people a reason to fight as a team and not quit aswell as giving good performances a reward. The credit system is good, but halo reach is using it the wrong way. if i win a game i get 1,000cr and if i lose i get 850cr, its really no difference. I think win streak bonus is better than slot cus i can get a good slot when i lose and get more CR than if i would have won. WHO LIKES THIS IDEA?

here is my idea in another forum.

Lets say you finish a game and your game completion is 800cr. this is an example of how your credits would differ if you PERFORMED THE SAME but won or lost a game.

 

Win Lose

Game Completion 800cr 800cr

WIN/LOSE Bonus 500cr 50cr (loser gets 50cr for trying) (winner always get 500cr bonus)

Commendations 300cr 300cr

Win Streak Bonus (of 5) +15% 0%

 

TOTAL 1,840Cr 1,150Cr

 

1,840 and 1,150 might not seem like a HUGE difference but if you do the math winning games will start to affect your rank. example.After a period of 25 games played AT THIS RATE SHOWN ABOVE the winner would have accumilated 46,000cr and the looser 28,750cr. Example 2, after 75 games, winner 138,000 , loser 86,250.

 

 

Just like Killing spree or killing frenzy, The winning streak bonus is like a winning spree or winning frenzy, a winning spree of 5 game adds +15% to total Cr and a win streak of 10 adds 20% and stops at that streak. This will make people try to win and play as a team as well as not quit cus it may risk there win streak, BUT ALSO if you lose your win streak you don't lose a huge amount of credits either. I don't like slot cus sometimes i get a big slot when i lose therefore making the win not really worth anything.

 

I think this is a fair rankign system the credit system is like any other ranking system but reach IS USING IT WRONG!!!!. My idea rewards your wins and efforts and as for poor players they wont get as many credits as you.Yes wou will still get credits for loosing but if you lose games often it will take a long time to rank, if ur a good player you will rank up much faster .

 

WINNING STREAK EXPLAINED---You get +15% on ur total credits for a 5 win streak and +20% for a 10 win streak and stops at that streak. If you are on a win streak the game should look for players that are also on a win streak this will make the games more competitive.

 

My idea rewards winning and makes you try to win games and if you lose you risk getting low credits. So if you dont wanna be stuck for days on a rank you should invite friends and actually play as a team, hence TEAM slayer,SQUAD slayer. I think is a a very good system, any thoughts are accepted if you hate it then let me know if you think something could be improved say it. Thanks, Snazzer Express. Halo reach field Marshall.

I definatly agree that you should get a less game complete bonus and higher perfromance bonus as it can be quite frustrating when you are given a tiny credit bonus for being the best in the game compared to everyone else, however I disagree with deranking as it would proberly stop people playing halo as people who are just getting into halo would facing people who are much a better at the game then them and it would make ranking up difficult and frustrating especially if you just ranked up and were forced to derank.
