H4 "improvements"

Alright, so I read up on some of the H4 confirmed features, and I have to say I'm a bit iffy. I'm psyched about the return of the BR, and the whole "Halo 4: Infinity" thing, as well as the randomized power weapons drops (cause hey, everyone hates campers), and the whole Sprint + another armor ability, but I'm a little bit disturbed by the "Forerunner vision", joining matchmaking games already in progress, Spartan (cough "Spec" cough) Ops, and instant respawns.

Look 343, if I wanted to play COD, I'd play COD. All of these things are a bit COD-esque don'tcha think? From what I'm seeing, you guys are basically making a Call of Halo: Warfare Evolved.

Source of these confirmed features: http://www.xboxmb.co...frankie%5D.html

Anyone from 343 itself to explain some of this? If this whole series becomes a knockoff of COD, I'll stop buying.

Can this topic be moved to Halo 4 section this isnt in the right place, thanks

Yeah should be moved, and forerunner vision seems so cheap and stupid, and will be complained about a lot. It was the most annoying thing ever, in Blacklight: Tango Down, for those who have played you know what i mean by that. Of course it makes it faster, but do you want to be seen all the freaking time when you want to sneak around your enemies, or surprise them, set up ambushes. Also, i find nothing wrong with "spartan ops", it might sound CoD, but it is more variety. Glad the BR is back too.

I was one of the people that didn't like forerunner vision. But now that I think of it... That could be extremely useful for infection; for both zombies and humans. Humans could check for cheap zombie campers behind walls they're about to pass, and zombies can see where a hiding human is. So... maybe this isn't such a bad idea?

Everyone ******* about quiters but as soon as something is done about it everyone hates it. Everyone got mad at bungie for quit bans. now at 343 for joining in progress. I think joining in progress would work as matches are typicaly longer than COD matches so you will still have plenty of time to play. Not many people quit out at the end. main at the beginning if they have a bad start.

Erm...Forerunner Vision is probably the best idea there. Remember in Reach Sword base when someone would camp at the Air vents so when someone would come up, they would shotgun or sword them. Now, thats no longer a valid tactic. Camping would be so much more reduced. But the only people I see whining about it is the campers.

I think Forerunner Vision is a bad idea with an even worse name... Forerunner Vision.. That makes the game sound like it's for 10 year olds. The reason why I don't completely believe all of this info anyway is because of what it says about returning armor abilities. It says the jetpack will be returning when it has been said and debated and argued many times that it's not a jetpack but a thruster pack.

It all depends on how said "Forerunner Vision" would work. A split second peak at what's on the other side of a wall? That may be okay. If I can run around with it turned on for 5 or 10 seconds? Definitely a balance problem.

As for the jetpack vs. thruster pack debate, this throws that into question, doesn't it? While I'm with the feeling that it was more of a thruster pack on the Chief, we haven't seen it in multiplayer yet. Who knows?

I think that the join in progress is really just a hint at something bigger...

...I think halo 4 social games will be lobbys like cod where you play with the same people over and over again and people quit and join as they please and as long as it stays in social I would consider it an improvement.

The joining in progress thing is undoubtedly the worst thing I've heard of. Honestly quitters were never that big of an issue for me, and they make better bragging rights when you win. Forerunner vision may be useful in some gametypes, although I feel like it may turn out to be the Armor Lock of this game as it brings in a somewhat unfair element.
