OhChristoph
Ive played every Halo campaign upon the night of release since 2 . Completing each game within a few days with my friends. Even when I moved to the east coast we kept tradition and played the Reach campaign through over live the night of, me having to wait til 3 AM just for them to get it. The Halo series means so much to a lot of people that we could count on Bungie to not let us down and the never did with campaign. Even with Reach I loved the campaign but thats not what keeps Halo fans coming. Competitiveness is what made all the hardcore fan boys from the beginning, because once the campaign is old we needed to be the best out of all our friends or random people online. Thats what kept me up everynight round after round, honing my skills. I was very good at all the Halos that came out, My levels were above 40 up until there was no more. That no more was Reach and took a major hit on my online experience which in essence is the hook of Halo, what keeps fan boys coming back. I played Reach online for a while and yes it was fun, but it was aggrevating having all these people having the same status as me who werent even good or Higher ranking than me?!?! I could only handle that for so long and eventually stopped. Now 343i had a chance to not continue down the failed Reach path and go back to what made the series and Xbox for that matter. All Im reading and hearing though is more changes to the formula (Default Sprinting, mod weapons, armor perks, etc) I mean whats next dont allow me to use the original controller settings, all this stuff equals a failed game. So until I hear different I wont even think of Pre ordering. But Im hoping the game comes out and Im proved wrong.
VivaLebowski
I agree that the post H3 halos are not giving skill its due, but seems to me like you valued being able to say your superior to people just a bit more than rather the game was actually fun or not. Not saying people shouldn't look for a skill system which rewards skill, in fact, what I want is to keep the credits of Reach but throw H3's ranking back in...all that said, what matters most is how fun the game is, for everyone. Halo's biggest value is in the game play for the general population, not how competitive a select few can make it.
DoctorB77
You shouldn't just not get it because of ranking systems. If you enjoy playing it then that's all that matters

If you enjoy playing it then that's all that matters its not just the ranking system though I feel like the have no concept of what Halo is and will make more changes and even ruin the campaign
Stealth Pilot
I have had faith in 343i from the day it was announced they would take over. This leak hit me with a blow. I still have faith...but it hurts to see flaws. I want Halo 4 to be perfect.
Anarchy
Well think about it, Master Cheif is back, im sure the ranking system would be great. It's also made by 343i and it's their first Halo game so at least give it a chance

All the games campaigns have been fun, but if the new one has a screwed up campaign couopled with meaningless (at least to me) multiplayer why get it. so I would rather wait to hear what people think, dont wanna play it and feel I wasted money on a Halo game dont think I could live with that lol
DoctorB77
This next campaign is believed to be awesome. They are going off the books.

Makes sense if you want to wait and see to buy it. Safe to say, rather you buy or not buy, we are all just going to have to wait and see. Halo is not going to be the same. Rather thats a good or bad thing? Who knows? all that said, one thing I still have allot of cautious optimism for is the campaign. Reach was missing the kinda weird sense of Alien Wonders that Halo's 1 2 and 3 had. Oddly, ODST completely lacked that, but its probably tied to be my favorite Campaign...Anyway, as DoctorB said, they are going off the books with the campaign. Could be interesting.
