Why all this hate on 343i?

Halo will never be cod, some people are afraid of change and can't help but rant at a game that hasn't been released and we dont know everything. haters, let 343i do their job anr stop complaining about halo turning into cod.

It's funny how people can think that, I mean look at Halo Reach, that was a big change from Halo 3. The "Haters" should just go back to playing their MW3 or S*** as I call it. Some idiots we have on this site will ever stop complaining, they just need to find common sence and understand that it takes time and effort to make video games. Also, the fact they have to think about sales, a big game needs to make a lot of money.

I don't understand this either. All the information that we have is very miniscule and only a leak, therefore we should not judge on false premises, and we should let 343i make their game in peace. (Without any hate). I'm sure that Bungie did a great job on educating 343i what to do and what not to do. They did a good job remaking Halo: CE, and they will continue to do so.

Ok so today I've read the 100th post about 343i sucks and stuff.

But why? Nobody ever gives a good explaination or anything instead of "343i is going to mess this game up. Bungie is way better".

well as a matter of factg there are numerous bungie employees working for 343i.

Also we should just be happy they make a new halo game or else we would have just sat 5 years with halo:reach (that will get boring after some time)

The second thing I'm annoyed about is people raging on 343i about rumours (wich aren't confirmed yet) and a 5 min first look in wich they show more people talking instead of showing game play so how do you know how it's going to work out?

And I personally think that if Bungie made this game those narrow minded people would praise Bungie into heaven but instead they just go bananas on 343i.

Please stop these posts nobody here gives a ****.

Finally somebody who is doing something about it. I can't stand these kind of people I've made about 30 to 40 posts telling them to GTFO and go to an anti-halo website instead of bitching about what they don't like about it on here.

It would be really cute if you guys could just post all day agreeing with eachother.

But there are people who are scared that 343i is going to further destroy Halo. You guys have the luxury of feeling like they made changes for the best. (Because you got owned a lot in Halo 2 and 3.)

Not everybody is going to agree, and if people don't understand that, so be it. But, if you're going to post something negative about 343 or Halo 4 and are just expecting everybody to agree with you, you're out of your mind. That's not called having an opinion, that's called being a moron and not knowing how the world, or other people, work. And who are you to say that people got owned in 2 or 3? It may be true, it may be false, but come on dude. No need for that.

People did get owned in Halo 2 and 3. That is a fact. Now, If I got owned all the time in Halo 2 and 3 but still loved Halo, I would want something to change to level out the playing field. And that's exactly what I would have got.

I'm not being any harder on people who like Reach than they are on people who don't like it.

I'm not saying people didn't get owned. Of course people got owned. But you called out everybody that likes Reach by saying "You". And that may not be the case.

Ya. I guess I did.

People who love Reach, please explain to me why Reach is better than Halo 2 and 3 without tip-toeing around the fact that it's less likely you're going to get raped. Please factor the bloom in, also.

First and foremost, I never said Reach was better than Halo 2 or 3, and I don't remember seeing it being said. I liked both 2 and 3, and still go back and play them when I have the itch to do so.

Personally, I like the feel of Reach more though. It plays better, in my opinion. Bloom I could care less about, either way. I like ZB, I like the TU 85%, and I like the normal 100%. Yes, there are times that you get spammed, but in my personal experience, that has been few and far between. Most of the time, it's just somebody that paced their shots better.

The armor abilities I think added a different touch to the game that was needed after Halo 3. While I don't particularly like Armor Lock, I don't think it's overpowered. Simply put (and this isn't coming from you or this thread, it's from another thread where it popped up), armor lock does not allow shields to regenerate if a person goes into while being shot. Period. It acts as a temporary shield that only prolongs the inevitable. And while the argument has always been "he can call team mates for help" - - that just leads me to ask, why aren't you calling team mates for help, too? Jetpack may have broken some maps, but then the maps weren't designed from scratch, like 343 is claiming Halo 4's are. If they are including jetpack (from GI), then I would hope that they are building the maps with that in mind as well.

I like the weapon selection in Reach, though I could do without the focus rifle and would have much rather seen the beam rifle back (and hopefully Halo 4 fulfills this hope).

Again, this is just my personal opinion. Take it with a grain of salt if that's what you wish.

I like the feel of Reach more. I don't mind bloom. And if you're bad at Halo then you are in no way less likely to get "raped", as you put it, than if you were playing any other Halo game.

Constantly, you have a pretty big ego there pal. Halo 2 was inferior to Reach in all ways. Albeit technical, layout for maps, weapon mechanics...I could go on and list a full 7 pages about how Reach improved upon every technical aspect of the game from Halo 2, Halo 3 and ODST.

For the record, you cannot compare the skill factor across game titles. Every single title plays differently than the last and as such, there will be people who excel and people who do not. Your "skill" as you all call it, depends on how well you can truly utilize and adapt to the mechanics that the particular title presents to you. Saying things like "You will get raped in halo 2, and thats why you want Halo 4 to be like Reach", would be like me telling you that you didn't want Halo 3 to be like Halo 1, because I would rape the hell out of you with the sniper. yes I was that good with the sniper in halo 1....I was part of CñR for over a year.....

Halo 4 is going to be very very very different from any other Halo title. I think the community got a little confused or even hopeful when they heard the words "We are making Halo 4 with the solid core gameplay of the older titles". Taking that phrase alone, can mean a lot of different things to many people. Older gamers around before Halo, can look at that statement and say to themselves that "Halo will be an evolution of the previous game, but core basics like gametypes and weapon usage will remain linear". While later gamers, that came in during Halo 3 or Reach, will read that and say "Oh yeah!!! Core basics and shiz...it's going to play just halo 'whatever' ". To a developer, keeping core basics means keeping things that the community has become used to over all the titles. Things like "weapon bloom", "playlists", general weapon mechanics and physics handling. Etc...

While yes I will agree that because of the lack of information available, it will ultimately lead the community to be mislead in their thoughts and desires in terms of the game and it's route. It is only natural that without proper information, people will panic and go off on tantrums. It's the nature of the beast, and in the end we are all entitles to our own opinions based on what we "CAN" see.

^That, is why Twin always wins.

But yeah, back on topic, guys we can't negatively judge 343 for a second. Like another member said: they have only made two things, the defiant map pack and halo CEA. And last I recall, they did damn amazing at both. I've said this many times before throughout threads, and I'll say it again: I have high hopes for 343. If they make halo 4 the way they've made CEA and that map pack, I swear this will be the best halo yet.

First off, I enjoyed your post.

Secondly I think you absolutely can compare skill across different titles. That's why you'd see guys like the Ogre twins wrecking people from Halo 1 to Halo 3. Because each title played so similarly. Now add the bloom and AA's and your taking skill out of those player's hands that were once so useful during the first 3 games.

If you're raping me with the sniper, great. That's the way it should be, if you're a better player. But if you're doing it because you always have invis at your disposal sitting across the map, then screw that. You can call that adapting to a new mechanic if you like, but I call that a cheap way to get kills and Bungie handed it right to you.

When I initially read up on Halo 4 I felt that 343i was aware of things like this and were going to correct them. But now, it doesn't seem to be the case. Now you get X-ray vision..... That's why the hate on 343.

I'm really playing the devil's advocate here because I think the OP started this topic just to get high-fives. I understand that 343i has a broader range of fans now (thanks to Reach) and they have to appeal to them all. But if they're going to have AA's then I think it really needs to be a rock, paper, scissor system. Give the Reach fans their AA's but give the rest of us a way to find "skill" in a way to counter them. I think the BR will help.

Here's the thing that kills me, and this is not directed at you, so don't take it that way, you just happened to touch upon it.

From Halo 1 to Halo 2, they changed the game. They got rid of the assault rifle, added the BR, added the SMG, included duel wielding. Added the energy sword, which we only saw in CE, never could use. Added other weapons as well. All of these things changed how CE played, and made Halo 2 what it was and is. People adapted and loved Halo 2.

From Halo 2 to Halo 3, they nerfed duel wielding of the needler (because lets face it, it was a powerful combo), added "equipment", adjusted other weapons, etc. etc., trying to make a better game. But, in doing so, they yet again changed how the game played. Yes, there were minor things, and for the most part, the game played the same, but the addition of equipment did change how the game was played. People adapted and loved Halo 3. You see where this is going?

Then you go from Halo 3 to Reach. They took away equipment, took away power ups, took away everybody's beloved BR. Added Armor Abilities, a new feature that also changed how the game was played, added in "bloom", which like Twin has said, was always a part of the game, just never visible until now. But they also added in a weapon that, the first shot, no matter what, always hit where the center circle was. Always. And if you paced it just right, you could knock somebody off fairly quickly. As quick as somebody spamming the trigger with ZB? Absolutely not, but again, that's beside the point. The point is, the game play changed. Yet, for some reason, people didn't adapt. Is it because it's a bad game? Or is it because people are starting to move on from Halo?

And again, Constantly, this isn't directed at you. Just throwing it out there.

Edit: Opps, forgot to but the not in there. Sorry bout that!
