Kinect Support Coming to Skyrim

Recommended Posts

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is to receive official Kinect support, Bethesda has announced. I'll say that again. Skyrim is getting official Kinect support.

The functionality will come as part of a free update due later in the month, adding 200 voice commands to hotkey equipping and all menu navigation. You'll also be able to command your companions using voice controls.

Most excitingly, however, is the fact that the update will allow you to issue Dragon Shouts. Millions of bedrooms and living rooms will now echo with the sound of "FUS RO DAH."

In addition to this, new functionality has been added to ease the use of Kinect with the game, including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.

Meanwhile, Bethesda has also made mention of the first Skyrim DLC, due to arrive as timed Xbox 360 exclusive.

"Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft," said the release. "This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim.
