One of the best third-party controllers for the Nintendo Switch has received a Prime Day discount, but only for several more hours. The 8BitDo Pro 2, which combines retro style with modern technology, has been discounted by 20% and you can grab it for just $40 on Amazon.

In case you haven't tried it, the 8BitDo Pro 2 is a wireless Bluetooth controller that has deep levels of customization and a pair of extra back paddle buttons that can come in handy. You can switch between three profiles on the fly, fine-tune the controller with PC or mobile apps, and even assign a long string of actions to a single button.

Customization is the strongest feature of this controller, as you can map your buttons to your liking, assign the sensitivity of the analog sticks, and adjust the range of the triggers amongst several other inputs that can be personalized. Even if you're not planning to fiddle with the hardware, the 8BitDo Pro 2 controller is a comfortable and reliable alternative to the official and pricier Switch Pro controller.

You can grab this peripheral in one of three colors--black, white, or gray, and it's also compatible with PC, iOS, and Android devices. It's worth noting that the Pro 2 does have motion controls and rumble, but it's not the HD Rumble that you'll find on a regular Switch Pro controller or JoyCon. There's also no NFC support for Amiibo, but it's still an awesome controller.
