Scar is Disney Dreamlight Valley's new villainous villager to contend with, and his initial questline is quite a doozy. It has a lot of parts to it, and it even ends in a multi-day waiting period before you can complete it. But to get to that part, you'll first need to blow up the night thorns protecting a pillar inside the Vitalys Mines in Sunlit Plateau, and that requires you to craft some Extra Fizzy Root Beer. Let's go over how to make it happen.

How to make Extra Fizzy Root Beer

A little way into Scar's opening questline, you'll reach a piece of paper inside the Vitalys Mines telling you that you need to use Root Beer to blow up the night thorns on the pillar. When you receive the ingredients in the nearby camp, you can open up your inventory and click on the book you just received to learn the Root Beer recipe, which needs Vanilla, Sugarcane, and Ginger. However, this recipe differs slightly from that already seen in our Disney Dreamlight Valley recipe list. Following the usual root beer recipe with regular ingredients isn't going to make the Extra Fizzy Root Beer.

To make the Extra Fizzy Root Beer, head to a cooking station and add in some Vanilla and Sugarcane, then look for the Dried Ginger quest item in your ingredients list. Only by adding this Dried Ginger quest ingredient will you be able to create the Extra Fizzy Root Beer.

Use the Dried Ginger to make the Extra Fizzy Root Beer.

Once you've got the Extra Fizzy Root Beer in your possession, you can now head back inside the Vitalys Mines and place it in the barrel alongside the candy quest item to blow up those night thorns and move along the questline of everyone's favorite shady lion.
