Stadia, Google's less-than-successful attempt to enter the cloud gaming market, will shut down on Wednesday, January 18. Though some games are already not playable on the service, including Destiny 2, many games will still allow you to transfer your data from the cloud service onto another platform.

However, Destiny publisher Bungie warns that players who fail to set up cross-save before Wednesday will lose almost everything, so definitely get on that before you lose all these sweet Eververse purchases. As mentioned elsewhere, Google has already begun the process of refunding all game purchases, add-on content and subscription fees made through Stadia, though that does not include Stadia Pro subscription fees.

If you're a Stadia subscriber with some time to kill, check out the humble Worm game that Google used to test the service for years, which is now available to play. Other Stadia fans who are still mourning the death of the service might be hanging around its official Discord, so go hang out there if you're feeling a bit lonely. In the above article, Stadia superfan CloudKnight described his overwhelming feeling about the shutdown as one of abject disappointment. That said, he still feels that cloud gaming is the future. Unfortunately for Stadia, it won't be a part of that.
