343iBot
The second season of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is live, and Activision has revealed the patch notes for the big update. Season 2 is bringing a new battle pass, more weapons, new maps, and plenty of weapon tuning and bug fixes. Here we highlight all the major changes for this new season. In terms of content, Season 2 adds a battle pass with 100 tiers of content, including the Ronin operator and five new weapons. The Ashika Island map arrives to battle royale and DMZ, bringing a new boss encounter, a new Contract type, and more. Modern Warfare 2 adds the Infected game mode and new maps for both 6v6 and Ground War.Players can also take part in Season 2's Path of the Ronin seasonal event, which works much like past events for Call of Duty. There are seven challenges to be completed in Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2, and completing all seven challenges for the event will unlock Season 2's Crossbow weapon.Season 2 includes a ton of weapon balancing. The M13B assault rifle was buffed to increase damage at mid-range and provide increased upper-torso damage, while the popular TAQ-V battle rifle received major nerfs. The TAQ-V now has decreased mid-range damage, decreased full-auto head damage, and reduced semi-auto rate of fire. Another notable change is tuning to the X13 pistol, as the pistol received buffs to damage profiles but a reduction to damage while using the Akimbo version. The patch notes also detail additional tuning available in the Gunsmith for Season 2. Tuning has been enabled for Laser attachments, and the tuning sliders have been updated for numerous attachments. The new season brings a few audio changes to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Proximity chat now fades out more effectively over distance, and improvements were made to the sound effect of reloading underwater. The patch notes also address audio bug fixes. The update fixed an issue where ping sounds could be missing when pinging items or map locations from certain positions, and addressed an issue affecting the sound effect for an enemy dropping cash onto the ground upon death.Tons of improvements are mentioned in the patch notes for the Social tab and overall UI changes. The update should fix several issues related to showing online status, sending party and friend invites, and joinability related issues. Several bugs were squashed related to muting/unmuting other players, as well as problems related to voice chat channels. The full patch notes can be found below, as shared by Activision's blog post. For more Season 2 details, check out every major announcement for Season 2 of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, which includes the big DMZ wipe, Ranked Play for multiplayer, new maps, and more. Weapon Tuning UpdateOur goal for Weapon Tuning has always been to deliver an experience that provides Players with deep customization for their favorite weapons: building a unique loadout for a precise personal playstyle. After examining Weapon Tuning in Season 01, we want to offer more value for Players by elevating the pros and reducing the cons of Tuning attributes. We are committed to making the system more rewarding for players going forward, without sacrificing overall weapon balance across the game. The results of this adjustment will generally be felt as an increase in the overall impact of Attachments, with the effects of Attachment Tuning becoming more significant. Losing their next match will result in a demotion. Demotion Protection is also applied for the player’s first 3 games of each Ranked Play Season.Party SR Restrictions: To ensure competitive fairness and balance of matches in higher Skill Divisions, players in certain Divisions can only party up with players around their current SR.
