343iBot
A slate of details have been confirmed for this year's E3, with the new Digital Week kicking off the gaming event that's set to return for the first time in years. This year, E3 is starting things off with a brand-new Digital Week on June 11. This event will feature a number of online showcases, including the PC Gaming Show, Future Games Show, Guerilla Collective, and Black Voices in Gaming. Publisher and independent press conferences are also planned to be announced in the coming weeks. To give the event a bit more of a revamp, days are also now being sorted into industry and gamer days, with an entire hall dedicated to industry attendees at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event itself kicks off Tuesday, June 13, with industry days running until Thursday, June 15 in the West Hall. For gamer attendees, things start on Thursday, June 15, and end the next day, Friday, June 16, held exclusively in the South hall. Those in the industry can now sign up for industry passes, and members of the press and content creators are able to apply for free media and content creator passes now too. While the full rundown of which companies will be appearing at the event hasn't been confirmed yet, organizer ReedPop has promised that "AAA companies, in addition to indie darlings… have already committed to making their return to the LA Convention Center." The press release announcing the news continued, "The full roster of exhibitors will be announced in the leadup to the expo, providing participating companies the opportunity to make their own individual announcements beforehand."In February, Nintendo confirmed that it would not be appearing at the event for the simple reason of this year's show not fitting into its plans. This followed a recent report that both Nintendo, as well as Xbox and Sony won't be making an appearance either. Xbox has since announced it will host an Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, as well as a presentation completely focused on Starfield, though there is no word on what PlayStation has planned for that time of year.View the full article
