Usually that's a no-no since the recreation is technically utilizing a company's intellectual property with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite add-on. Having said that, developer Epic has now updated its terms to allow these imitations of the very first island.The Fortnite team wrote up a blog post giving its blessing to creators and their work remaking the battle royale game's original map. The one stipulation is they won't receive money for these designs."...We are as excited as you to relive the experiences we shared in the original Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 1 map, and so we are granting a special and specific exception to allow creators to publish their own remakes of the Chapter 1 maps (and only the Chapter 1 maps)," the Fortnite team wrote. "Like maps built using the 'Battle Royale Island' starter island, islands recreating Chapter 1 maps will remain ineligible for monetization."A studio called Atlas Creative is already behind a remake of the Fortnite Chapter 1 map with the recent launch of Creative 2.0.
