The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro is one of the best gaming headsets on the market, and now it’s better than ever. Razer is officially updating its flagship headset with a host of new features, such as improved battery life, enhanced materials, and a reworked microphone that makes your audio crisper than the original model.

For one, you’ll benefit from roughly 70 hours of battery life, which is a huge improvement over the 24 hours of the previous BlackShark V2 Pro. It also uses a HyperClear Super Wideband Mic with a 32kHz sampling rate (compared to the 16kHz sampling rate of the old model), allowing you to give commands with confidence and ensure your voice is clearly heard by your team.

Other notable upgrades include support for both Bluetooth 5.2 and 2.4GHz wireless with a USB extender, the ability to enable specific EQ profiles for five popular games, including Fortnite and Apex Legends, using on-board buttons, and fast USB-C charging that gets you six hours of play with just 15 minutes of charging.

Like the original, the new model is fitted with 50mm drivers for booming sound, noise-isolating earcups designed with memory foam, and durable steel headband sliders that make it easy to find the perfect fit. The new BlackShark V2 Pro looks just as sharp as ever, with matte black and matte white color schemes that give it a sophisticated appearance.

If you already have a BlackShark V2 Pro, the new iteration probably isn't worth the upgrade since the build is essentially identical and the audio drivers haven't changed. However, if you don't own the original, the new model is the way to go due to the improved microphone and battery life (as well as USB-C charging). Competitive players will also probably appreciate the custom-tuned profiles, which are available for Fortnite, Apex Legends, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, and Valorant.

The BlackShark V2 Pro is available now, so head over to Razer and give it a look if you’re ready to upgrade your headset for PlayStation or PC.. And if you’re still on the fence, be sure to check out our roundups of the best PC gaming headsets and best PS5 headsets of 2023.
