343iBot
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched to strong reviews last week, but fans and critics have given the game's PC version a thumbs down for its technical issues. Now, modder PureDark has crafted their own take on Nvidia's DLSS functionality, and it doubled the game's frame rate from 45 to 90fps, showing what the game might look like when it has better PC performance via an official update. To be clear, this mod is far from an official implementation of DLSS, and it's not publicly available at the moment (via PC Gamer). The mod also seems to introduce occasional visual artifacts into the game, though it's still definitely a lot better than the unmodded version as of right now. PureDark notes in the video description that it's not a "polished implementation." PureDark has previously shown off similar footage of DLSS mods for Elden Ring and Skyrim. It seems unlikely that Jedi: Survivor will ever feature real DLSS support, as EA partnered on it with Nvidia rival AMD, which has its own tech called FSR2. EA released a patch for PC that supposedly improved the port's performance, but it seems that it still has a long way to go. For its part, Jedi: Survivor has experienced a pretty positive launch period overall, selling a lot of copies in the UK.View the full article
